Bug Earthstation ctf/capture Update!!

This map was previously posted to quadropolis.us only, but due to that website being unreliable, I am posting here as well. I am going to link my own downloads for the Pyccna mapmodel pack and the PhillipK texture pack as well. This is because Quadropolis is unstable and sometimes links break.
I will update the quadropolis link asap, but that's impossible right now

Anyway, about the map and it's update:

The map supports all modes (except campaign), and has bot paths. It is suitable for mass ffa and large-team ctf games. There are only a few designated camper spots, and very few large open areas, so it should have a fairly fast-paced gameplay (although it's never been tested with large numbers of human players)

Features of the update:
- improved the clipping and and smoothness of the glass bubbled "Observation Deck"
- updated the 90° curved pipes to be more round. also improved clipping on them so it is harder to slip off while walking on the map's plumbing Finna
- changed a glitch-ladder into a standard "stair" ladder for better player interaction. (i won't change the others because i like the 100% vertical efficiency of that design; i only changed this one because it was already a different width and design, so didnt need to match. )
- minor texture changes (voffset mainly)
- a new loading/thumbnail pic
- the cfg is also relatively new, but already on the outdated quadropolis link (it features texture error fixes and other issues)

• Important side note regarding model packs: If you have downloaded the "Warzone" campaign models that come with the warzone part 2 campaign on quadropolis, please use the "fss_pyccna" and "fsr1_unarmed" models from the separate mapmodels pack... The versions of those two models that come with the campaign attached are different and not what I want used on the map.

Bug my first ever large map: "delphi"

This map is also my very first completed and functional map: it works for ctf, capture, ffa, collect.. all modes, really. It was actually finished before "anger", so technically this is my first ctf... I just think it fits better into the "large map" category. So design for this is random, to say the least. I had tons of ideas and it didn't occur to me that i should try to make multiple maps, so I just crammed anything i thought was cool into one moon-base map and connected it with a confusing system of hallways and teleports.
There are many boxy computer terminals throughout the map: jumping next to them will teleport you to somewhere else on the map. This map is really probably best for something like "hide and seek" or maybe DMSP. At one time, I thought about converting it to the race mode, but it would be too big to function smoothly on a race server.

Bug my first duel/ffa map: "baseboards"

Despite its simple design, this map is still one of my favorites I have made.
It has mostly wooden textures, with highlights and trim of shiny metal. Inspiration for this map came from a picture i saw of an old Halo Reach map called "Reflection" (I may return to this style in the future, but for a larger map like ctf or mass-ffa)
This map, like all my others, includes botpaths, so no worries there.
It is fairly large for a duel map, so I can also recommend this for 2v2 games.
Side note: you can easily get on to the roof of the map with just one 'nade hop. I knew this when i was making the map, but perhaps foolishly decided to leave it that way

It's high time I start uploading my old maps, some of which are the reason I even got noticed by cH. So here is my very first 100% complete capture the flag map! I know it isn't pretty and has some bad lighting, but it is fully functional in terms of it having team and ffa spawns, weapon spawns, bot paths, and all that sort of stuff.
The layout is symmetrical and there are no team color textures at either end... just all the same grey Tounge
There are 2 central routes (top and bottom) as well as one side route for each side. There are some side rooms off of each flag base, which lead to teleports to the central area. The top route has some decent sniper sightlines, but also some horizontal jumppads used for flagruns and getting close to campers in a jiffy Happywide

  Tutorial maps

What are some good tutorial maps? Tutorials can be about anything really, as long as the map is made to teach something.

So far I am aware of these:

Learn-IT-test (newer version of Learnit, it does not explain anything about IT though)
Learn-It-2017 (a slightly updated version made by FaZo)
These first three are all the same map with some minor differences.

Then there is the map 'tutorial' which seems to be another older castle themed map which shows a lot of editting tricks like making conveyor belts, one way doors etc.

There is a similar map geared towards racing gameplay made by TristamK, ISMC_race_ideas_bundle.

and also there is my map which is a tutorial on cubescript, hence the name 'cubescripttutorial'

Are there any other maps like these?

  arCABAL GRUB type generator

Script to generate text geometry in a sauerbraten map by simply typing that text into a command.
Based on cube2_typegen by Nyne. https://github.com/gitnyne/cube2_typegen.
The font used in this script is part of GNU GRUB, licensed under the GPLv3.

- both uppercase and lowercase characters
- punctuation marks
- letters with diacritics
- uppercase and lowercase cyrillic font
- compatible with Linux, Windows, and Mac OS

- Put agtg.cfg in you sauerbraten directory and the two folders 'grubfont' and 'grubfontbbg' in sauerbraten/packages
On Linux your sauerbraten folder is at ~/.sauerbraten
On Windows 7 and 10 this is C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Games\Sauerbraten
On an Apple Mac it is most likely macHD/users/%username%/library/Application Support/sauerbraten/
- add the following line to your autoexec.cfg inside your sauerbraten directory
exec agtg.cfg

In edit mode, select the right face of a cube pointing towards one specific direction. See the included agtg.png to see which, and move back so all generated text will appear in your field of vision.
If you don't do this the generated text will be truncated to the part which can be generated in your view as you can only edit in sauerbraten on things which are inside your field of view.
You probably want to use the smallest grid size but bigger text is also possible. with the right face of the cube selected, enter this command:

/agtg Hello World!

as you can see, you don't need to put double quotes "" around your input. However, if you want to generate text with characters which are interpreted by cubescript, you do have to put double quotes around your input and escape some characters. Characters which mess up up the input are: ^;()[]"
You can escape these characters with a ^ in front. So for example, if you want to generate this string:
this is a string with a ] and a ; but which can still be generated.
you would use:
/agtg "this is a string with a ^] and a ^; but which can still be generated"

These are all the characters which you can generate. I believe they are also all the characters you can type into the game but let me know if I missed any and I will add them.

tip: you can paste text into the game using clients which use SDL2

I've included two fonts in the package. The first font, grubfont, is floating cubes forming the characters of the font. The second font, grubfontbbg (grub font black background),
is the same font but with black cubes around them forming a background. It is generally better to use grubfont to minimalize the wtr of your map.

you can select a font using /agtgfont nameofthefont
so that is one of those two for now:
/agtgfont grubfont
/agtgfont grubfontbbg

you can autocomplete the font selection with tab.

if you want to add your own font, you have to add another folder to your packages folder and use the savebrush command to save each character as a .obr file.
For every character, select it and for example for the letter a, use:
/savebrush yourfontname/a
Use the same filenames as used in grubfont and add your fontname on line 13 of agtg.cfg so agtgfont selection can tab autocomplete it

This command takes screenshots with the name of the current map, and separates them into files with the name of the current mode, adding a number to not replace the same image...
